| Sunday morning came too soon for a lot of
people. The good time, beer and strain of nearly two days of solid
adrenaline was taking its toll. At little more than half strength,
75 Z3ers gather at the Zentrum to make their way off into the
mountains of South and North Carolina. |
| Let's Recap; three days ago most Z3 enthusiasts
had never seen more than a couple of Z3s together, today they have
to search for their car. |
| This Z3 has the privilege to be the "Newest
Z3 at HomeComing." Herb picked his 2.8L up on Thursday evening
just in time for the event. |
| The cars patiently outside in a line awaiting
their owners return with maps and directions. |
| This Evergreen M Roadster is prepared to take
charge and lead this group off to its destination. Greer, SC is used
to the Z3 and these parades, but little was it prepared for the
numbers on this day. Stoplight to stoplight the small towns along
the way were filled with Z3s. |
| Scenic mountain views and a shady grove of trees
greeted us as we arrived at Fletcher's Ranch. This set of playful
bears was captured in a beautiful wood carving. |
| The Z3s line up across a mountain pasture. The
real picture would have been the driver's face of the first car that
was pointed into the field to park. These cars can do it on the
asphalt and they can do it in the dirt. |
| The Z3s rest after a long mountain drive through
some of the greatest roads in the country, Saluda Run and Highway 9
& 11. South and North Carolina roads were made for BMWs. |
| As the day's events wind down, enthusiasts
pack-up the cars and head back home full of memories and new
friends. A tradition begins... |
